The right word in Esperanto is: miaŭ (the u has a hook, to for diphtongs). The verb is miaŭi (http://www.reta-vortaro.de/revo/art/miaux.html).
It may interest you that there has always been an Esperanto club of friends of cats “Kat-amikaro” (http://www.uea.org/agadoj/fakoj/kat_amantoj.html). Its president is the well-known British Esperanto writer Marjorie Boulton: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjorie_Boulton
