OK - that hurt!! My owner decided that she wants to monitor my blood sugar level at home, so she doesn’t have to take me to the vet every day. See, they have to know if the dose of insulin they inject me with is the right amount, and they have to know if my sugar is too low, and I should get something sweet to eat, or too high and I should get insulin. So with people they prick their finger to get a tiny drop of blood onto the special measuring stick, but with cats they have to prick our ear. OUCH!! it hurts and I won’t let them do it.
My owner saw a home-made video on the Internet of a lady who pricked her cat’s ear and the cat just sat there next to her and didn’t bat an eye. She brough me over to show me how well behaved he is. Well, I don’ know what you’re on dude, but this test hurts. no way. Find a different solution. Use telepathy. No needles in my ear.

I already talked about time in one of my recent posts. Well, the more i think about it the more it becomes clear to me that NOW is really all there is. And that the quality of the now and what we do in it really is what determines the quality of our future. Us cats - we understand that, right? we don’t care about our past or our future, but I see how people don’t get it. They completely disregard the present moment by either crying about the past, fantasizing or worrying about the future or numbing themselves out in the present with television and other addictions. They are alway in a hurry to get somewhere or do something. Which I hate because they don’t stop to pick me up and pet me, and to really appreciate me. Now.
Doing one thing at a time means to be total in what you do, to give it your full attention.
Because, wherever you go there you are. You are here. Always. If people only knew how to let the present be as it is by accepting it totally and letting go of any resistance to it…. well, they would be more cat-like, and probably happier.
Yesterday my owner called me. I was sitting on the fridge minding my own business, overlooking things from my favorite post. “Not coming down” - I told him with an indifferent look. “Come on Peapod, come here” he said. “Which part of NO don’t you get, bozo. I’m comfortable right where I am. Not coming down!” This went on and on and on. What is it about people? When will they learn that we are not dogs? We don’t come running, we don’t do best friends, lets play, take me for a walk, rub my stomach and all that childish bullshit. We are not here for your entertainment people! We are here to look beautiful. So let us do our jobs.
Thank You, Peapod
